I liked Yellin and West’s Grand Central Market enough that I’m going back in for another round today. (Besides, I’m still waiting for my carbon steel wok to arrive.)
This time I’m doing drunken noodles and a “pressed cucumber salad”, plus actually doing the bread pudding I thought about for last time.
No pupusas, though: I went to our local market for what I need today and checked for masa harina, no luck. At some point in the future, I’m going to have to make some more judicious decisions about what kind of pantry to maintain, but having masa harina around feels like something I’d always want to do in a mid-Atlantic household, because storebought corn tortillas just aren’t very good here. It’s a bit frustrating that it’s not always available.
