Two shots from a few hours of walking around the East Passyunk neighborhood in Philly, one of my favorite areas of the city. Still didn’t really take candids of people—I think that takes setting up in a good spot with a lot of foot traffic and just staying put.
I’ve been disappointed in trying it with the decent little point-and-shoot camera I bought, though. First off, I’d hoped that it was less noticeable or intrusive, which is just not the case. Second, it has no zoom at all, which means being really close to people for most shots. I think I’d just as soon put my portrait lens on my Nikon and do as well as I can that way. I have succeeded at times that way, it’s just a matter of screwing up my courage to do it again.
