I took advantage of a free day in New York to wander around with my camera, just before New Year’s Eve (by which time we thankfully had left the city—at 6am on January 31 there were already people waiting to get into the barricade that blocked off the heart of Times Square).
I decided this next one looked better in black-and-white. The garish colors on the food ads overwhelmed it otherwise. (Sorry, Dina Litovsky!)
Even with near-lethal level crowds, if you have a camera up, of whatever size, and your lens is at eye-level, you get some eyes back at you. Some bemused, some wary, some annoyed.
