There are a bunch more successful invasions, I think. India's invasion of East Pakistan (similar to Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia). Indonesia's conquest of West Papua, India's invasion of Goa, all count here. Probably there are more that I can't think of off-hand.

I think some of those fall under the heading of what Altman means by fait accompli, where postcolonial occupation of a colonial territory was communicated in advance and basically accepted or acceded to by the colonial power. Ethiopia's seizure of Eritrea originally went that way as well, and took a long time to be undone.
